Getting started

1. Create a form

The forms list The forms list

From the dashboard, New form. A form is a list of steps, and each step asks for one thing: a recording, a written answer, an email address, a file.

Add your first question with Add New Step. The most useful ones to begin with:

  • Audio or Video — asks for a recording.
  • Advanced media recorder — a recording or a written answer, for people who cannot record right now.
  • Text — a plain written answer.
  • Email — an address, optionally one the respondent has to confirm.

The form builder The form builder

The step list is on the left, the step as respondents will see it in the middle, and its settings on the right.

2. Choose how it ends

Below the steps, Closing screen picks what respondents see when they finish: a plain thank-you, a summary, a celebration, or nothing at all.

If you want answers to be final

Turn on Lock answers after submit in the form's settings. Respondents then press a submit button on the closing screen, after which their answers become read-only — they can start over with a new set, and the ones they sent are kept. Without a closing screen there is nothing to submit from, and the setting does nothing; the builder warns you when that happens.

Share gives you the link to send. Anyone with it can answer; they do not need an account.

4. Read what comes back

The Responses tab lists every respondent, one row each, with their answers in place. Play a recording where it sits, or download it — downloads are named after the question that produced them, so a folder of answers sorts by question rather than by upload time.

5. Make something of it

Open a Mix to assemble recordings into one piece of audio, add an intro and outro, and export it. From there a Podcast page publishes episodes on a public page.
