Domain & Pages¶
Domain & Pages in the left menu, at spoken.systems/host/dashboard/pages.
A page is something you publish and hand out a link to. Each one points at what it should show — a collection, a form, an RSS feed, a file — and carries its own address.
The screen is a two-step wizard, and the header says why: configure domains first, then create pages on top of them.
1 · Domains¶
New domain registers one. The table lists what you have — Name, Last update, Creation date — sorting on each and searching on the name, and the ⋯ menu gives Edit, Rename, Delete and Add to folder.
2 · Pages¶
The Pages step lists the pages themselves, with New page to add one. Opening a page opens its builder.
The domain editor¶
Opening a domain — or Edit from its row menu — is where the DNS work happens.
Root Domain is the domain you registered and own. From there the page walks you through it:
- Add subdomains — the ones you intend to use (
interview, record, www…). You can come back and add more later. - Configure at your DNS registrar — in your registrar's control panel (GoDaddy, Namecheap,
OVH, Cloudflare…): add the TXT record shown under Domain Ownership Verification to prove
the domain is yours, then a CNAME for each subdomain pointing at
spoken.systems. DNS takes 5–60 minutes to propagate, and the Check buttons tell you when it has.
The page explains the why as well as the how: a CNAME sends your guests to spOken while keeping your own address in their browser, HTTPS certificates are issued automatically so there is nothing to buy or renew, and the ownership check is what stops someone else pointing your domain at their account.
The page builder¶
A page needs three things: a name, something to show, and an address. Page name and Description are on the left; the rest sits under two tabs, Settings and Open Graph.
Target Resource Type is what the page shows, and the choice changes what it asks for next:
| Type | Then |
|---|---|
| Collection | Select Collection — the usual choice for a podcast. |
| Form | Select Form — a form on your own domain. |
| RSS Feed | The feed itself, for podcast apps. |
| File | Upload New File or Use Existing File. |
| Interview | Select Interview — see Interviews. |
Domain Configuration attaches the address. Pick one from the Domain list, or Open
builder to go and set it up first; the attached domain shows with the subdomains it has, and the
× detaches it. URL Pattern is the path after the domain — /for-bob — and Copy link
gives the finished public address. Anyone with it can open the page, no account needed.
The Open Graph tab is how the page looks when someone shares it in a message or on social: Title, Type (Website, Article, Video, Music, Book, Profile), Description and Images — filled in automatically from the page's configuration unless you override them.
